Throughout this week, Augustine has held several field trips covering the main villages around Liawan, including friendly visits to residents’ homes, sessions to meet voters, and engagement sessions with community leaders.
Each meeting emphasized his main message: the awakening of the voices of the people of Sabah to demand the state’s rights that have been delayed for a long time.
In his speech at the meet the people session, he stressed that Liawan needed firm and principled leadership in fighting for core issues such as improving basic development, defending local economic rights and returning autonomy in line with the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
According to him, the rising tide of the people who are increasingly demanding Sabah’s rights is now an important momentum to ensure that Liawan is at the forefront of change.
“The people of Liawan are increasingly aware that the future of Sabah depends on our courage to demand back our rightful rights. This is not just a party’s struggle, but the struggle of all Sabahans,” he stressed.
He also stressed his commitment to making Liawan a model progressive area by prioritizing the resolution of rural road issues, improving educational facilities, economic opportunities for youth, as well as improving the government delivery system at the district level.
With the support of the increasingly organized Star party machinery and the positive response from the local community, Augustine expressed his confidence to capture Liawan in this election.
He invited voters to join forces to build a new wave that brings the people’s voices directly into the state administration.
In the November 29 election, Augustine stand for Star faces a ten-cornered contest with candidates from BN, GRS, Warisan, KDM, PN, PIS, Rumpun, PPRS, Upko.
