Pakatan Harapan not interested in Chief Minister post
Chan also warned that the State cannot afford to fall back into cycles of political instability that have repeatedly disrupted governance.
Kota Kinabalu: Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Tanjung Aru candidate, Datuk Chan Foong Hin, urged voters to give the coalition a strong mandate in the Nov 29 state polls, saying it is crucial to ensure Sabahans receive meaningful and tangible benefits from development.

He said Sabah urgently needs a government anchored on clean governance, competent administration and genuine reform, rather than politics focused on division or emotional rhetoric.

“I am Sabahan, and every PH candidate contesting here is Sabahan as well. I am sure no one will question our sincerity in fighting for the future of the State.

“This election should not be reduced to a contest about who is ‘more local’. What matters are integrity, a proven track record and the ability to deliver results for the people,” he said.

Chan also warned that the State cannot afford to fall back into cycles of political instability that have repeatedly disrupted governance.

“Sabah has seen 16 Chief Ministers, while Sarawak has had only six and Sarawak’s progress is driven by stability, not simply by being led by local parties. Sabah must break away from this pattern of instability.

“PH is not contesting to seize the Chief Minister’s chair, we are here to help build a stable administration that can fully focus on the priorities of Sabahans,” he said.

He emphasised that PH remains the only coalition consistently upholding the Madani principles of integrity, efficiency and inclusive development.

“We are entering this election with a clear mission to move Sabah forward with stability, competitiveness and alignment with the national Madani agenda.

“PH’s representatives in Sabah have never been entangled in corruption scandals. Our stance on reform and good governance has never wavered,” Chan said.

He called on voters to support PH candidates to secure a cleaner, more stable and forward-looking future for Sabah.
