TUARAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who is also the incumbent Sulaman assemblyman, filed his nomination to defend the seat in the 17th State Election at Dewan Sri Sulaman here this morning.
Hajiji, who is Chairman of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and President of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat), arrived at the nomination centre at 9am, accompanied by GRS leaders and a crowd of supporters.
Also with him were incumbent Pantai Dalit Assemblyman Datuk Jasnih Daya, incumbent Kiulu Assemblyman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai and new candidate Dr Bonaventure Boniface, who is contesting the Tamparuli seat.
All submitted their respective nomination forms during the morning session.
For the Sulaman seat, Hajiji is facing a five-cornered contest, while Jasnih is involved in a seven-cornered race in Pantai Dalit. In Kiulu, Joniston is contesting in an eight-cornered race and Dr Bonaventure will face a 13-cornered contest in Tamparuli, making it one of the most competitive seats in the election.
