TELUPID: The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government is able to guarantee political stability in the state because it is a coalition of eight local parties focused on the development of Sabah, said caretaker Deputy Chief Minister II, Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam.
He said political stability has been the main catalyst for the state’s economic growth since GRS took over the reins of government in 2020.
“GRS must continue to govern the state for the sake of continuity of overall economic growth,” said the Acting President of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) when 40th annual general meeting of PBS Telupid Division.
He urged the entire PBS Telupid machinery and members to unite and provide strong support to Telupid PBS Division Head and Telupid Assemblyman, Datuk Jonnybone J. Kurum, to continue to defend the seat in the coming election.
“He (Jonnybone) has always been outspoken in the Assembly and is committed to working for the well-being of the people of Telupid.
Dr. Joachim also congratulated the Organizing Chairman, Marcellus Jeffrey and the Telupid PBS Division committee for the success of organizing the conference.
He expressed appreciation to PBS Prime Advisor, Datuk Seri Michael Asang, who is a former Labuk Assemblyman and was present at the event.
The Telupid seat was formerly a division of Labuk and Michael Asang played a major role in this area, he said.
Also present were Labuk Assemblyman cum Head of the Sabah Gagasan Rakyat Party (Gagasan Rakyat), Datuk Samad Jamri and representatives from the Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) and Gagasan Rakyat Telupid Division.
Jonnybone thanked Dr Joachim for the special allocation to renovate the Telupid District Native Court building, in addition to several changes to the relevant enactment that will also be implemented to improve the institution.
