MENUMBOK: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will field only genuine candidates in the coming 17th Sabah Legislative Assembly General Election, dismissing talk that some may be “borrowed” from other parties.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said GRS would nominate candidates capable of winning, reaffirming the coalition’s confidence ahead of the polls.
He said this after launching the Kuala Penyu and Menumbok strategic development plan, presenting house keys and land titles, and handing out education aid at the Menumbok multipurpose hall on Thursday.
Hajiji and confirmed that Datuk Limus Jury will contest the Kuala Penyu seat under GRS, and that the coalition’s full list of candidates will be revealed on Nov 12, following PKR and DAP’s expected announcements this weekend.
He added that the State Government will resubmit its appeal to the Federal Government for the construction of a Labuan-Sabah bridge, and pledged that GRS will continue implementing the Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0 development agenda if it retains the mandate.
