KOTA KINABALU: As Sabah heads towards the state election, a coalition of non-partisan youth and civic movements will host the “Bah-Bincang Kita, Sabah Pre-Election Youth Forum 2025” on Nov 8 to promote integrity-based and solution-oriented politics among young voters.
The forum, jointly organised by several youth groups including Community Empowerment Initiative Sabah, Gerakan Anak Sabah, Hai Mandak, Sabah Youth Movement, Seen, Spade, and The Sip Sip Show, aims to provide a neutral space for policy-driven discussions among youth leaders and 120 invited participants.
Although the event will be held behind closed doors, the organisers have encouraged public participation through live streams on Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram to widen youth engagement.
The organisers said the initiative reflects a growing desire among Sabah’s youth for mature political discourse that prioritises governance, development, and shared progress over divisive politics.
Representatives from GRS, DAP, PKR, Muda, PIS, SAPP, Star, Upko, and Warisan have confirmed their participation, with each youth leader to be given equal time and respect to present their vision.
The organisers said the event is funded through community crowdfunding to ensure independence, transparency, and accountability, with financial details to be shared publicly after the forum.
With more than half of Sabah’s electorate now under 40, the organisers hope the forum will empower young voters to make informed decisions and strengthen issue-based democracy in the State.
