LAHAD DATU: Parti Warisan has remained consistent in fighting the rights of Sabah and its people, including to ensure the resolution of matters related to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
Warisan Supreme Council member Datuk Dr. Mohd Yusof Apdal said the party does not use MA63 as a political issue but views it as a responsibility.
“It is a responsibility every leader, especially political parties in Sabah, must regard the struggle for MA63 as an obligation,” he said.
Commenting on the 13 matters under MA63 that have been resolved, Yusof, who is also the Lahad Datu Member of Parliament, said he welcomed any effort to develop Sabah for the benefit of its people.
He hoped efforts to fulfil all remaining MA63 demands will continue to ensure that the people and the state of Sabah reap the benefits.
Meanwhile, Yusof said the selection of Warisan candidates for the upcoming State Election will be decided by the party leadership.
He said there are several criteria set by the leadership, but the main priority is to choose winnable candidates who can contribute to the party’s success.
Yusof also stated that his own candidacy would depend on the party’s needs and that the final decision rests with the top leadership.
