After land is charged to the bank:
James said local partners should always check their expatriate partners’ background carefully to ensure that they are properly registered, not ‘fly by night’, and trustworthy.
SANDAKAN: State government departments and agencies, including GLCs, have been urged to be careful when entering into agreement with foreign companies to avoid future problems.

Assistant Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Datuk James Ratib in giving this advice said local partners should always check their expatriate partners’ background carefully to ensure that they are properly registered, not ‘fly by night’, and trustworthy.

“It has happened before. Either the joint-venture project is not completed, or the foreign partner disappeared.
