Kota Kinabalu: Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) national president Datuk Tan Kok Liang (pic) refutes criticism by some Johor property investors on his remarks that the cancellation of the Kuala Lumpur–Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) project is a “blessing in disguise.” “Why get upset with Matta? It is the Federal government that cancelled the HSR project, not Matta. So go and scold the federal government,” he said.
He called out the location investment decisions in Johor based on HSR by such investors as risked on “greed, greed, greed” (parody on the real estate investment mantra of ‘location, location, location’).
He said it was laughable that he should be criticised for championing national interest for tourism remarks by unhappy property investors.
