It is aimed at promoting soft tennis while identifying potential new talents in Sabah.
State head coach KK Chin, who conducted the two-hour session from 4-6pm held every Saturday at the Likas tennis Courts, believes they are on the right track with the positive response received.
“We are very happy that a total of 35 students have signed, up with rackets and balls provided for them, throughout the session, and we will organise a tournament for them at the end of this two-month programme.
“I must say that I am very impressed with the commitment shown by the players since day one and this is clearly a very good sign for the sport in the future.
“We will also be organising a training programme for those players who wish to continue, and I am confident that we will be able to produce more players to represent the states for future international tournaments,” he said.
