Kota Kinabalu: A social media user has expressed shock after claiming that his father’s name, despite having died more than 40 years ago, still appears in official records and is allegedly linked to another individual.

In a Facebook post that went viral on Sunday, the user, identified as Lucian Mudim, said her father, Mudim Majunah, passed away on Feb 7, 1984.

However, she claimed that information obtained from the Sabah National Registration Department (NRD) in July 2025 revealed that his father’s name was still listed in official records.

More puzzling, she said, was the discovery that the name was allegedly being used by a woman with an address in Sandakan.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
According to Lucian, the matter came to light while she was trying to obtain documents related to his father’s death for official purposes.

“Strange but true. My father, Mudin Majunah, died on Feb 7, 1984. But for everyone’s information, my father’s name is still alive as a woman living in Sandakan,” she wrote in the post.

She appealed to the public to share any information if they knew the individual concerned or had details regarding the matter.

She said the post was made in the hope of clearing up the confusion and finding a solution to the issue involving her father’s records.

“Please share this so that my ‘father’ can be found,” she said, expressing hope that the matter would receive the attention of relevant authorities.

As of now, no official statement has been issued by the authorities regarding the allegation.
