AMPANG: A Malaysian content creator has issued a public apology dated June 21 after facing backlash over viral TikTok clips allegedly showing her mocking locals during a recent trip to China.
Nur Asyiqin Mohd Dahlil, identified in reports as the individual behind the videos, had earlier drawn criticism after posting a legal notice threatening action against those sharing or commenting on the clips.
In her apology, she described her actions as a "spontaneous reaction" and said she did not intend to offend anyone, adding that she accepted public criticism and regretted the incident.
The videos, which contained remarks about local behaviour and hygiene, were later deleted but had already spread widely across social media.
The incident triggered strong online reactions, with netizens questioning her initial legal threats before the subsequent apology.
