KOTA KINABALU: Himpunan Bangkit Sabahan 2.0 will hold a peaceful rally on July 4 and 5, 2026 at Dataran Deasoka, Gaya Street, urging the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to reopen investigations into alleged mismanagement of RM1.5 billion in Sabah rural development funds.
Organiser Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar said the gathering aims to demand transparency, accountability and justice over the long-standing case.

He said around 1,000 participants are expected, including NGOs, activists, students and members of the public concerned about governance and integrity.
“We are calling for the case to be reopened so that transparency and accountability can be ensured,” he said.
Zulkarnain said the rally will be held peacefully and in accordance with the law, with participants encouraged to wear black as a symbol of solidarity against corruption.
He added that the movement is independent and not linked to any other groups, and urged Sabahans to join in support of stronger governance and institutional integrity.
