KOTA KINABALU: ConocoPhillips Sabah Gas Ltd. has approved a final investment decision for Phase 2 of the Kebabangan (KBB) gas field, committing about RM1.3 billion to drill additional wells and raise production.
President Connor Dunn said the move supports rising gas demand and Sabah’s energy security, while reflecting the company’s long-term commitment to Malaysia.

“I am very pleased to see reliability has improved and safety performance has strengthened,” he said, crediting team efforts and partner support.
The offshore field, about 123km from Sabah, supplies LNG and domestic gas. The project is a joint venture with PETRONAS Carigali and Shell Energy Asia.
