LAHAD DATU: The Battalion 17 General Operations Force (GOF) Lahad Datu detained 26 individuals and seized goods worth RM1.04 million in 17 raids and 27 police reports in May.
GOF Lahad Datu, in a statement, said they comprised 24 men and two women – 15 locals and 11 foreigners -–who were detained for various offences.

Among the goods seized were diesel, ketum, cough medicine, syabu, Philippine-bred fighting cocks, cooking oil, smuggled cigarettes and vehicles believed to have been used in carrying out the illegal activities, amounting to RM1,038,100.95.
Among the successes recorded are three raids carried out by Company B during Op Taring Esszone in Felda Sahabat and Silabukan that led to the arrest of two local men and two foreigners.
The operations also led to the seizure of 4kg of ketum powder, 23 bottles of processed ketum juice and cough medicines.
The case was handed over to the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division of the Lahad Datu Police Headquarters for further investigation.
In another operation codenamed Op Tiris 4.0 and Op Taring Bravo 1 on May 20 at Batu 9, Segama, the GOF Lahad Datu intelligence branch apprehended a rigid lorry carrying 12,000 litres of subsidised diesel, suspected of being misappropriated, without valid permit.
The operation also led to the arrest of two local men.
The case was handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Lahad Datu for further action.
All the offences were under the Dangerous Drug Act 1952, Poison Act 1952, Control of Supply Act 1961, Immigration Act 1959/63, Customs Act 1967, Firearms Act 1960 and Animal Welfare Enactment 2015.
