Kota Kinabalu: Head of State Tun Musa Aman performed Hari Raya Aidiladha prayers alongside more than 6,000 worshippers at State Mosque, here, Wednesday.
Upon his arrival at 7.20am, Musa was welcomed by Deputy Chief Minister II cum Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun; Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif, who is also Sabah Religious Exco; and State Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jheain) Director Datuk Awang Juri Awang Tahir, who is also Chairman of the State-Level Aidiladha Prayer Committee.
The Aidiladha prayers, which began around 7.30am, were led by the State Mosque Grand Imam Ustaz Suhaidi Kuanting, followed by an Aidiladha sermon entitled “Embracing the Sacrificial Ritual, Nurturing the Spirit of Sincerity” delivered by State Mufti Datuk Ustaz Bungsu @ Aziz Jaafar.
Following the prayers and the sermon, Musa spent some time greeting and mingling with the congregation before leaving the mosque around 9am.
Also in attendance were State Secretary Datuk Seri Sr Safar Untong; Sabah Federal Secretary Datuk Mohd Razali Wahab; Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister (Religious Affairs), Datuk Isnin Aliasnih; and Sabah Islamic Religious Council (Muis) Deputy President Datuk Malai Ali Malai Ahmad, among others.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor officiated the Qurban (sacrificial) cattle presentation ceremony at Tuaran District Police Headquarters (IPD), Wednesday.
He, alongside Tuaran Member of Parliament and Tamparuli Assemblyman Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau; Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister and Kiulu Assemblyman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai; Pantai Dalit Assemblyman Datuk Jasnih Daya; and Nominated Assemblyman Datuk Abdul Kassim Razali symbolically presented the sacrificial cattle to Tuaran District Police Chief Supt Noraidin Ag Maidin.
Earlier, the Chief Minister performed the Aidiladha prayers at Haji Noor Mosque in Kampung Serusup, alongside local residents.
Hajiji also took the opportunity to meet with the congregation after the prayers.
