Tawau police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin dies

TAWAU: Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin, 53, died at 2.04am on Wednesday while receiving emergency treatment at Tawau Hospital.

The late Jasmin was earlier rushed to the hospital by his family after he reportedly collapsed at home while attempting to put out a small kitchen fire.

Tawau Deputy District Police Chief Superintendent Wilynton Enchana Watt described his passing as a great loss to the police force, especially the Tawau district.

He said Jasmin was a good leader who was committed to his duties, including efforts to combat drug-related activities in the district.

The late officer received his final respects at Masjid As Salam, Tawau District Police Headquarters before the remains were taken to his mother’s residence at Kampung Sungai Gading, Batu 17, and scheduled to be buried at the Batu 16 Muslim Cemetery at 1pm.
