“Malaysia’s cultural, religious, linguistic and ethnic diversity is one of the nation’s greatest strengths and must be preserved wisely.
“Malaysia is home to more than 200 ethnic and sub-ethnic groups, which require a comprehensive, systematic and continuous approach to unity, especially in facing the increasingly complex challenges of the digital era,” he said while officiating the National-Level Harmony Dialogue Programme 2026, here.
He said advances in information technology and social media have created broader opportunities for interaction, but at the same time have introduced challenges that could threaten national harmony.
“When there is no interaction, prejudice arises, which can lead to distrust. When distrust becomes deeply rooted, unity begins to erode.
“Therefore, dialogue and consultation are the best ways to bridge this gap,” he said.
Aaron said the Madani Harmony approach, which is founded on these four core principles, is not merely a slogan but a practical guide for cultivating a society that is more open, inclusive and appreciative of differences.
He stressed that the Madani Government remains committed to expanding various unity programmes to ensure that social harmony continues to be preserved in line with the aspirations of Malaysia Madani.
The programme, organised by the Ministry of National Unity through the Department of National Unity and National Integration, is one of the Government’s key initiatives to strengthen the national integration agenda and expand opportunities for interfaith and intercultural dialogue at the grassroots level.
Also present at the event were State Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk Julita Majungki; Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Unity, Datuk Haslina Abdul Hamid; and heads of government departments.
