Sabah Karate Association Main Dojo clinch overall title
Team SKA Main Dojo with their winning trophy and medals.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Karate Association (SKA) Main Dojo captured the overall title for the third consecutive year at the 23rd Sabah State U14, Cadet, Junior and U21 Karate Championship held at Dewan Sri Putatan over the weekend.

They won a total of 12 golds, seven silvers and six bronzes to top the medal tally.

Their gold medal winners were Nur Ain Humairah Abdul Rahman (Cadet Female Ind. Kata), Ivy Catrinaz Zurizal (Cadet Female Kumite -54kg), Cadet Junior Male Team Kata A, Danish Rayyan Rajis (Cadet Male Ind. Kata & Cadet Male Kumite -57kg), Extra Male Team Kumite, Nur Rasyiqah Fariah Razmi (Junior Female Ind. Kata & Junior Female Kumite -53kg), Adlin Vince Viceroy (Junior Male Ind. Kata & Junior Male Kumite -61kg), Al Zovainz Zurizal (Junior Male Kumite -68kg) and Habib Luthfi Habib Taha (U14 Male Ind. Kata).

The silvers came from Lashea Quisha Lumbidan Songping (Cadet Female Kumite +61kg), Cadet Junior Male Team Kata B,  Mohd Afiq Hazriq Sedry (Cadet Male Ind. Kata), Bibi Aysha Muhd Zain (Junior Female Ind. Kata & Cadet Female Kumite -54kg), Ryyen Ryye Gerrard Rojin (Junior Male Ind. Kata), Diane Dane Cahilap (U14 Female Kumite -47kg), Mickail Zaquaan Zurizal (U21 Male Kumite -67kg), while the bronze medals delivered by Cadet Junior Female Team Kata, Neyo Chai Xiao Le (Cadet Male Ind.Kata), Caleb Wong Zi Xuan (Cadet Male Ind.Kata), Extra Female Team Kumite, Vincent Veshawn (Junior Male Kumite -55kg) and Eddel Jerry Jaimun (U21 Male Kumite -75kg).

The championship saw a total of 367 athletes from 26 teams competing over four days.

In the overall standings, second place went to SKA Penampang with 11 golds, seven silvers and 10 bronzes followed by Keningau Sports Complex Karate Club with five golds, six silvers and 10 bronzes.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Youth Development, Sports Advancement and Creative Economy Minister Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan.
