Kota Kinabalu: A total of 21 foreigners were detained in a joint enforcement operation carried out by the Sabah Immigration Department of Malaysia (IMM) in an “Ops Sapu” targeting undocumented migrants in the city.

The operation involved checks at three premises, where 40 individuals were inspected by enforcement officers during the crackdown.
Of those inspected, 21 were detained for suspected offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63, including violations under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c).
The detainees comprised Filipino and Indonesian nationals, including adult men and women as well as children.
The department said enforcement actions will continue to be intensified, with firm action taken against any parties found to be harbouring or employing undocumented migrants.
