SANDAKAN: Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd (SEC) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Asian Supply Base Sdn Bhd (ASB), contributed RM200,000 to the Sabah State Disaster Management Committee to assist victims of the recent fire at Kampung Bahagia here.
The contribution was presented by SEC deputy chairman Datuk Hassan A Gani Pg Amir, accompanied by ASB chairman and Labuan Member of Parliament Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman.

The cheque was handed over to State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong during a ceremony held in Sandakan.
The ceremony was witnessed by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, Deputy Human Resources Minister and Batu Sapi MP Datuk Firdaus Akbar Khan, Sandakan MP Vivian Wong and Sandakan Municipal Council President Datuk Walter Kenson.
SEC said, as a wholly state government-owned linked company, the group carries responsibilities beyond economic development, including the welfare of the people, with the contribution aimed at easing the burden faced by those affected by the fire.
