PENAMPANG: A man in his 30s was arrested after his 16-year-old non-citizen daughter was found unconscious and covered in blood with neck injuries inside a toilet at Kampung Tuntuluk here on Thursday.

District police chief Supt Sammy Newton said the girl was discovered unconscious at about midday.

He said the victim was found with injuries to her neck area and is receiving treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

It is understood that the suspect, believed to be the victim’s father, is in police custody to assist investigations.

Sammy urged those with information to contact senior investigating officer ASP Hairie Awang Akub at 016-8032849 and advised the public against spreading false information or speculation that could affect the investigation or public order.
