‘Nabawan schools stay under Keningau’
Jordan said any proposal to shift the administration to the Pensiangan District Education Office could be initiated by the Nabawan assemblyman through the Pensiangan District Education Office.
Kota Kinabalu: The Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry said SK Pohon Batu and SK Nangkawangan in Nabawan remain administratively under the Keningau District Education Office based on existing arrangements set by the Education Ministry.

Assistant Minister Jordan Jude Ellron said both schools are located within the Nabawan (Pensiangan) district but were placed under the Keningau District Education Office for operational and logistical coordination at the time.

“Both schools are indeed located within the Nabawan (Pensiangan) district, but their administrative placement under the Keningau District Education Office is based on the existing administrative arrangement set by the Ministry of Education Malaysia for operational and logistical coordination purposes at that time,” he said.

He was responding to a question from Nabawan assemblyman Datuk Abdul Ghani Mohamed Yassin at the State Legislative Assembly sitting on Thursday, on the status of the two schools and whether there were plans to transfer their administration to the Pensiangan District Education Office.

“Should there be a proposal to transfer the administration to the Pensiangan District Education Office, the Nabawan assemblyman may apply to the Pensiangan District Education Office, which will then forward the matter to the Sabah State Education Department for further action,” he said.
