IEM pays courtesy call on SOGDC chairman

Kota Kinabalu: The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Sabah Branch paid a courtesy visit to Sabah Oil & Gas Development Corporation (SOGDC) Chairman, Datuk Ir Shahelmey Yahya, at Wisma Innoprise on Tuesday, aimed at strengthening ties and discussing future collaboration.

The delegation, led by IEM Sabah Chairman Ir Ts Tan KJ, was accompanied by several committee members and representatives from the organisation.

During the meeting, the delegation formally invited Shahelmey to attend IEM Sabah’s 51st Anniversary Annual Dinner, scheduled for June 13 at Sutera Magellan Resort.

They also introduced the newly appointed IEM Sabah committee for the 2026/2027 term and shared the branch’s ongoing efforts in supporting the engineering profession in the State.

Shahelmey welcomed the visit and acknowledged the role of IEM in developing the engineering field and contributing to the State’s development.

He stressed the importance of continued cooperation between industry players, government agencies and professional bodies to drive innovation and build local expertise.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both sides expressing commitment to work together in nurturing future engineering talent and strengthening Sabah’s engineering sector.
