KOTA KINABALU: Sabah continues rolling out targeted assistance to cushion rising living costs, with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor saying measures were in place even before the current pressures.
He said the Sentuhan Kasih Rakyat (Syukur) programme now supports 100,000 recipients monthly, expected to rise to 140,000, with RM339.16 million allocated, complementing Federal aid that has reached over 800,000 Sabahans worth RM1.25 billion.
Hajiji said additional relief includes utility rebates, sector discounts and self-sufficiency efforts like the Kebun Dapur initiative, adding the Government will keep reviewing support but sees no need for drastic action for now.
