SANDAKAN: The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry will coordinate assistance for Kampung Bahagia fire victims with the Sabah State Government.

Minister Nancy Shukri said she will meet Chief Minister Hajiji Noor soon to discuss and align the types of aid to be provided, ensuring efforts do not overlap with state plans.

She spoke during a visit to victims at the temporary evacuation centre at Sri Harapan Hall, where contributions from Yayasan Sime Darby were also distributed.

Meanwhile, the ministry, through the Social Welfare Department, has spent RM900,000 to provide food and drinks for nearly 2,000 victims across eight evacuation centres from April 19 to May 2.
