KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is prioritising food security, logistics and business resilience to address longer-term cost of living pressures.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said RM102.86 million had been allocated under the 13th Malaysia Plan to boost agriculture, livestock and fisheries output, reducing reliance on imports and stabilising supply.
He said five districts — Keningau, Tenom, Nabawan, Tongod and Tambunan — were identified as food production hubs, alongside projects like the Keningau Integrated Livestock Centre and dairy farming in Sook.
Hajiji added that logistics upgrades, including Sepanggar Port expansion, would lower transport costs, while collaboration with Federal agencies and UMS, along with MSME support, would strengthen economic resilience.
