Kota Kinabalu: A 46-year-old lorry driver was fined RM25 or three days’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court here on Wednesday for urinating at a petrol station following a dispute over diesel limit.
Kuan Kah Pau pleaded guilty before Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin to committing the offence at a public place, at 5.42pm on April 14, at Shell station, in Kampung Likas.
The charge under Section 6(1)(d) of the Minor Offences Ordinance (Sabah) provides for a fine of up to RM25.
The prosecution told the court that the incident happened after a verbal argument between Kuan and a petrol station attendant, when Kuan refused to comply with a 50-litre diesel filling limit.
Kuan subsequently urinated at the pump area and uttered abusive words before leaving the scene.
Acting on information, police arrested him on April 16, at 7.30pm.
Investigations revealed that Kuan admitted to deliberately committing the act out of anger after being reprimanded.
In another case, two brothers were each fined RM25 or three days’ jail for acting in a threatening manner during an argument.
Firdaus Suhaili, 23, and Syafie Suhaili, 21, pleaded guilty to committing the offence at 5pm on April 14, at a premises in the BDC Industrial Estate, Inanam.
They were charged under Section 8(1)(e) of the Minor Offences Ordinance (Sabah) read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code.
The prosecution told the court that the incident occurred when the complainant was leaving the workplace and got into a verbal argument with Firdaus.
Firdaus then punched the complainant on the head, while Syafie attempted to intervene but ended up grabbing the complainant by the neck.
The incident was triggered by allegations that the complainant had accused the brothers of involvement in a theft incident at their workplace.
The complainant sustained pain to the head and neck following the incident.
