Kota Kinabalu: A 29-year-old woman was fined RM1,800 or four months’ jail for trespassing into a house in, Inanam.
Darwisa Mursedi pleaded guilty before Magistrate Dzul Elmy Yunus to unlawfully entering a house at Kampung Warisan, Inanam, at 6.30am on April 22, this year.
The charge under Section 448 of the Penal Code provides for imprisonment of up to three years, or a fine of up to RM5,000, or both, on conviction.
The court heard from the prosecution that Darwisa entered the complainant’s house while the latter was asleep in the living room.
Investigations found that the complainant’s aunt and sibling saw Darwisa, who is known to them as a fellow villager, inside the house.
Both witnesses were in a room and woke up when Darwisa opened their door.
In a separate case, a 23-year-old man claimed trial to keeping stolen property.
Madil Abirin pleaded not guilty to having a stolen Gucci Rush handbag belonging to one Dayangku Siti Zulaikha at a unit in Puri Warisan Apartment, Inanam, at 1pm on April 8, 2025.
The charge under Section 411 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between six months and five years, and is also liable to a fine, on conviction.
The court fixed June 25 for pre-trial case management and released the accused on bail of RM1,600.
