PAITAN: SK Simpangan, which was destroyed by severe floods earlier this year, will be relocated to a safer site at Kampung Simpangan’s KPD land, says Sabah minister of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Datuk James Ratib.
He said the move addresses recurring flooding at the current low-lying, river adjacent site, with a proposal to repurpose the original planned site in Pekan Paitan as SK Pekan Paitan.
The relocation plan will undergo land gazettement before being tabled under RMK-13 for approval.
In the meantime, students will be temporarily housed at SMK Simpangan’s open hall with partitions to ensure continued learning.
