JOHOR BAHRU: A photograph showing a motorcyclist squeezed between a Malaysia-registered trailer and the Second Link bridge barrier has sparked discussion on road safety.
The image surfaced two days after a 31-year-old Malaysian motorcyclist travelling to work in Singapore died after crashing into the rear of a lorry.
A content creator from Kelantan shared the photograph in a
Facebook post on Thursday (April 16).
He wrote: "Imagine if there was just a small mistake...No speeding, no crashes. Just being hidden can become a tragedy."
The post received about 400 interactions within six hours and was shared in several Johor Bahru motoring community groups.
Based on the background in the photograph and cones labelled ICA (Immigration and Checkpoints Authority), the scene is believed to be along the Singapore-bound direction of the bridge.
While it is unclear when the photograph was taken, the post prompted discussion on road safety, with some commenters noting the leftmost lane is used by lorries forming up before entering Singapore and that motorcyclists should avoid it.
