KOTA KINABALU: The State Government continues to strengthen its digital transformation agenda as the Sabah State Computer Services Department (JPKN), an agency under the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Sabah (KPSTI), has been officially rebranded as the State Department of Digital Technology and Innovation in conjunction with its 50th anniversary.
State Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Datuk James Ratib said the rebranding reflects the department’s expanded role as the lead driver of the state government’s digital transformation and a catalyst for technological innovation development in Sabah.
He noted that over the past five decades, the department has played a vital role as the backbone of the state government’s systems and information technology development — from the early era of basic computing to the advancement of digital systems and the implementation of various digital transformation initiatives in Sabah’s public service.
