Indian illegal having fake pass fined RM15k
Dhivin was charged under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155), which provides for a fine of up to RM10,000, or imprisonment of up to five years, or both, upon conviction.
Kota Kinabalu: An Indian national who overstayed in the State for over three months and had in possession a fake temporary work e-pass, was fined a total of RM15,000.

Sessions Court Judge Hurman Hussain meted out the sentence to Dhivin Kumar Sasikumar, 28, after he pleaded guilty to two charges against Dhivin.

On the first count, Dhivin was fined RM10,000 in default six months’ jail for staying in the State after his social visit pass had expired on Nov 27, 2025 and that he had overstayed for three months and 24 days.

He was arrested at 10.30pm on March 23, this year at the Immigration inspection counter of Domestic Arrival Hall in Kota Kinabalu International Aiport, here.

On the second count, Dhivin was ordered to pay another RM5,000 or spend four months in jail for having a fake e-pass temporary work visit pass under his name at the same place and time.

Prosecuting Officer Mohd Hairul Bona from the Immigration Department urged the court to impose an appropriate sentence on Dhivin.

In the same court, five illegal immigrants were jailed four months each for entering the State illegally.

The illegal immigrants, comprising Indonesians and Filipinos, were recently arrested after failing to produce identification documents to Immigration personnel during an operation conducted in the city area.

After completing their jail sentence, the illegal immigrants were ordered referred to the Immigration Department for further action.
