SANDAKAN: Five Supreme Council members of the Sabah Sepak Takraw Association have received state honours in conjunction with the 75th official birthday of the Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah, Tun Musa Aman, on March 30.
The recipients are Vice President Awang Dullah, who was conferred the Member of the Order of Kinabalu (ASDK), Deputy President Azwan Abdullah (Companion of the Order of Kinabalu (BSK)), Honorary Secretary Suhaimi Abdullah (BSK), and Supreme Council members Akhbar Hamdan and Idi Ladinda, who also received the BSK.

Suhaimi expressed appreciation for the recognition accorded to the association’s leadership.
He said the conferment reflects the Sabah State Government’s recognition of the state’s achievements in sepak takraw at both national and international levels.
He added that the Sabah team has maintained consistent success, including sweeping all gold medals in the women’s category at the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) for more than a decade.
He said the recognition is expected to further motivate efforts to enhance the standard of sepak takraw in the state.
