JKNS conducting two studies on Sabah railway services
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah State Railway Department (JKNS) is conducting two studies related to the state’s railway services, including a review of fares and a new route proposal, said Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick (pic).

Ewon, who is also State Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport Minister, said the fare review study has reached 90 per cent completion and will be presented to the ministry before being brought to the state Cabinet.

He said the second study involves the feasibility of a new route from Putatan to Kota Kinabalu, extending to the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) and up to Sepanggar Port, which is expected to take 12 months.
