Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s oil and gas services and equipment (OGSE) sector is poised for expansion over the next three years under the Kinabalu Activity Outlook 2026–2028.

(pic) said the outlook offers an opportunity for local players to move up the value chain and take on more complex offshore roles.
“We are entering a cycle of significant offshore activity that will demand not just participation, but capability from local players,” he said at a memorandum of agreement signing between Kinara Energy Sdn Bhd and Dayang Enterprise Holdings Berhad.

He said increased Topside Major Maintenance and Integrated Well Services, particularly in the Kinabalu and Samarang clusters, will generate steady work for local service providers.
Harris added that growth in deepwater, subsea and decommissioning activities, supported by strong local content policies, will be key to developing Sabah-based expertise in the sector.
