KOTA KINABALU: Sabah DAP chairman Phoong Jin Zhe has urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to announce the implementation of Sabah’s 40 per cent net revenue special grant under Malaysia Agreement 1963 during his visit to Sabah for a Hari Raya Aidilfitri dinner on Sunday.

Phoong called on the Federal Government to withdraw its court application to delay the ruling and immediately release the payment due to Sabah this year, saying the move would demonstrate sincerity from the Unity Government.

He stressed that the grant is Sabah’s constitutional right under MA63 and urged Putrajaya to respect the court’s decision, implement the ruling without further delay, and restore Sabahans’ confidence in national institutions.
