Sabah rice supply sufficient for up to nine months: Jamawi
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s rice supply remains sufficient and at a safe level despite reports of shortages in several districts recently.

Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Minister Datuk Jamawi Jaafar (pic) said current rice stockpiles in the State are able to meet the needs of Sabahans.

He said the supply becomes more stable when combined with commercial stocks, supplies held by wholesalers and available local rice.

According to him, the total rice supply in Sabah could last up to nine months when all sources of stocks are taken into account.
