Rasa Ria wins Chinese Friendly Hotel Award
Kota Kinabalu: Shangri-La Rasa Ria has reinforced its position as a premier destination after being recognised as a Chinese Friendly Hotel (2024-2026) by Trip.com.

The resort also secured a Top 10 spot in the prestigious DestinAsian Reader’s Choice Awards 2026 for the Best Malaysia Resorts category.

As global travel continues to evolve, the Chinese Friendly Hotel certification reflects the resort’s commitment to providing a seamless experience for Chinese-speaking guests. This is achieved through tailored amenities and services, including multilingual support from Mandarin-proficient staff.

The resort also provides Chinese translations in its hotel collaterals, specialised culinary offerings at The Eighth Chinese restaurant, and the integration of popular Chinese payment methods such as Alipay and WeChat Pay.

Cosmobeauté Malaysia and beautyexpo will expand into East Malaysia with the launch of the Cosmobeauté Malaysia Borneo Festival 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from May 25 to 26.
In the latest DestinAsian Reader’s Choice Awards 2026, a ranking determined by votes from travellers across the Asia-Pacific region, Rasa Ria was named the sixth Best Resort in Malaysia and the only resort in Sabah to make the Top 10 list.

The recognition highlights the resort’s appeal, with its 400-acre tropical setting, a three-kilometre stretch of white sandy beach, and the Garden and Ocean Wings accommodation.

The accolades follow a landmark year for the resort, which recently became the first hotel in Malaysia to achieve the ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management. From its protected 64-acre Rasa Ria Reserve to the award-winning Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club, the resort continues to promote sustainable luxury in Sabah.
