Tuaran: Sabah aims to reduce its reliance on conventional energy sources by moving towards a more diverse, sustainable and environmentally friendly energy system, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said.
He said the move aligns with the Sabah Energy Roadmap and Master Plan 2040 (SE-RAMP 2040), which guides long-term planning for the State’s energy future.

Hajiji said the launch of the 15MW large-scale solar project in Tuaran demonstrates collaboration between the government and government-linked companies, particularly Sabah Energy Corporation (SEC).
The project will add 15 megawatts to Sabah’s energy capacity and during the construction phase about 150 workers, including locals, will be involved.
When fully operational, the project is expected to create about 50 new jobs in operations, maintenance, technical and administrative support.
