The 33-year-old father of one works as an engineer in the oil and gas industry.
His record was verified in 2023 following examinations by two dentists.
The verification confirmed that he had 42 erupted teeth, with a further two unerupted teeth also detected.
Prathab said he first noticed the unusual number of teeth in 2021 during a family tea-time gathering.
He said his family counted 38 teeth at the time before a dental X-ray revealed four more that had yet to erupt.
By early 2023, he realised that the total number of teeth in his mouth had reached 42.
He said most people do not notice his extra teeth until he points them out.
Prathab added that the additional teeth have not caused complications and that he maintains good oral hygiene by brushing twice daily and flossing regularly.
