A MALAYSIAN technopreneur has captured global attention after selling the internet domain AI.com for US$70 million (about RM275 million), believed to be the largest publicly disclosed domain sale in history.

The deal was first revealed by Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek in a post on X, where he said the domain had been acquired in April 2025 and later launched during the Super Bowl on Feb 8.

Crypto.com said it paid for the domain in cryptocurrency and is using it for a new AI agent platform that offers services such as messaging and market trading.

The seller, Malaysian tech entrepreneur Arsyan Ismail, confirmed the sale in an interview with Says, saying he bought the domain in 1993 for just US$100, turning it into a return of nearly 700,000 times.
