KEN Wharfe (

Wharfe described Andrew as one of the most arrogant individuals he had ever had the misfortune of meeting, recalling several professional interactions during his years serving the Royal Family.

A former SAS-trained Scotland Yard inspector, Wharfe served as Diana’s personal protection officer from 1988 to 1993 after previously guarding Princes William and Harry, who affectionately called him Uncle Ken.
Reflecting on the controversy surrounding Andrew’s links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Wharfe described the association as excruciatingly toxic.
Andrew, 66, was arrested on February 19 at Wood Farm on the King’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and was released under investigation by Thames Valley Police after being held for 11 hours.
He has not been charged and has previously denied all wrongdoing.
The arrest followed the January release by the United States Department of Justice of millions of files linked to Epstein, including emails appearing to show Andrew forwarding confidential reports from visits to Southeast Asia to Epstein while serving as Britain’s trade envoy.
By October 2025, Andrew had been stripped of all royal titles and styles, including Duke of York, Prince and His Royal Highness, and is now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
