SANDAKAN: Sungai Sibuga Assemblywoman Lisa Alban has expressed full support for Sarawak’s petition filed at the Federal Court on February 24, 2026 challenging the constitutionality of the Petroleum Development Act 1974 (PDA74), Continental Shelf Act 1966 (CSA66) and Petroleum Mining Act 1966 (PMA66).
She said Sarawak’s move represents an assertion of powers and rights guaranteed under the Malaysia Agreement 1963.
“MA63 was signed as a framework of cooperation and mutual respect, not as a tool to dominate the Borneo states within the Federation.
“By demanding autonomy over natural resources and adherence to the Federal Constitution, this petition has revived the true spirit of MA63.
