Kota Kinabalu: A total of 100 youths took part in the Program Hiking Sihat Madani 2026 at Bukit Botak, Sepanggar, organised by the Persatuan Kebajikan dan Sukarelawan Wanita Sabah (UKHWAH) and the Sabah Outreach Movement Association (Soma).
Chairperson of Persatuan Kebajikan dan Sukarelawan Wanita Sabah (UKHWAH), Datin Rosnih Nasir, said the programme supported the Sihat Madani agenda, with the majority of participants comprising residents from the surrounding area.
She said Bukit Botak has the potential to become a more attractive recreational site if upgraded with safer and better organised facilities.
“I hope Bukit Botak can be upgraded with the construction of stairways leading to the summit, as the existing trail is quite slippery during the rainy season and poses a danger to visitors,” she said.
Representing the Member of Parliament for Sepanggar, Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, she also presented prizes to the winners.
