KOTA KINABALU: Four non-permanent houses were destroyed in a fire at Kampung Tanjung Aru Baru, here, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 2.54pm and arrived at the scene four minutes later, with the operation brought under control at 3.25pm and concluded at 5.05pm.
A total of 29 personnel from Kota Kinabalu fire station, with assistance from Putatan fire station, the Tanjung Aru Community Fire Brigade, APM and Sabah Electricity, were deployed to the scene located about 3km from the station.
Firefighters carried out extinguishing works and created a fire break to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby houses, and no casualties were reported.
