KINABATANGAN: Seven non-permanent houses were destroyed in a fire at Kampung Pangkalan Bukit Garam here on Tuesday night.

The Operations Control Centre received an emergency call at 10.08pm before a fire engine from the Kota Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene, located about 10 kilometres from the station.

Kota Kinabatangan fire station chief Hairi Outuh said six of the houses were destroyed while another was about 20 per cent damaged, and a Toyota Hilux was also burnt out in the incident.
