KOTA KINABALU: Police have arrested four individuals, including two women believed to be linked to the main suspect, following the discovery of dismembered human body parts at a rubbish disposal area in Indah Permai, Menggatal on Thursday (Feb 12).
Acting Kota Kinabalu district police chief Supt Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman said swift action and continuous investigations by the Kota Kinabalu district criminal investigation division led to the arrests.

The first suspect, a 71-year-old local man, was detained on Feb 12 at the emergency unit of Hospital Queen Elizabeth II. A 19-year-old local man was arrested later the same night in Sepanggar.
“On Feb 15, two more arrests were made involving two local women aged 29 and 21 in Sepanggar and Inanam.
"Both women are daughters of the main suspect and were detained to assist investigations into their roles and knowledge of the incident,” he said in a statement.
Police also seized several items believed to be linked to the case, including mobile phones, clothing, a pair of gloves, a 27-inch parang and a Nissan X-Trail vehicle.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. Syed Lot assured that investigations would be conducted thoroughly, transparently and professionally, and advised the public against speculating in ways that could disrupt the probe.
