PITAS: The Sessions Court has sentenced a 47-year-old man to 12 years’ imprisonment and six strokes of the cane after he pleaded guilty to raping his 16-year-old daughter.
The sentence, handed down by Judge A. Akhiruddin Acho on Tuesday, also includes a mandate for three years of police supervision following the completion of the custodial term.

The incident took place at approximately 6:00 PM on January 6, 2026, inside a vehicle parked by a riverside in Pitas.
Following a police report lodged by the victim the next day, the accused was promptly arrested, and investigators seized both the vehicle and clothing linked to the crime.
Prosecuting officer Deputy Public Prosecutor Suhayl Aminin Sallehuddin appeared for the state, while the defendant was unrepresented.
Police officials emphasized their commitment to a zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual crimes, particularly those involving domestic abuse, ensuring such cases are met with the full force of the law.
