He said the police would expand the use of smart technologies and AI across investigations, surveillance, intelligence, data management and decision-making to enhance accuracy, efficiency, transparency and service delivery through digitalised work processes, digital forensics and predictive analytics.
Jauteh said comprehensive digitalisation would be implemented throughout investigation and prosecution processes, including case documentation, evidence management and case tracking, to reduce procedural gaps while improving speed and transparency.
He said the police would also formulate and enforce policies governing the ethical and controlled use of AI and big data policing to safeguard privacy, data security, legal compliance and public trust, while strengthening people-oriented, risk-based policing to address organised crime, violent crime, cybercrime, drug-related offences and traffic management through professional investigations and data-driven responses.
The assembly also saw the presentation of the federal-level Police Integrity Award to five recipients across three categories and the Sabah Police Commissioner’s Certificate of Appreciation to 22 recipients, with Criminal Investigation Department Head SAC Datuk Azmi Abdul Rahim and Internal Security and Public Order Department Head SAC Datuk Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek among those present.
